Sometimes We Need A Good Laugh!

Yesterday I found this video on Tim Marks leadership blog and I was laughing so hard that a tear came to my eye! It reminded me how important it is to take time to get around people that are fun and make you laugh.

This past weekend we had a Life Leadership seminar in Whitewater Wisconsin. Not only did everyone in attendance learn principles to live the life they have always wanted. We also laughed! We had Fun! It is refreshing to find a community of people who do not focus on the negative, complaining about everything. This group of people in Life do not focus on the negative things they can not control. They are excited because they focus on the only thing they can control…..their future!

What Motivates You?

Inspiring movie clips, speeches, quotes, I can’t get enough of them to help with personal motivation! There is nothing like thinking through your goals and what the future will bring while watching someone who has already achieved greatness tell you you can do it.

Over the years I have seen many great inspirational clips. LIFE Building And Bonding

IMG_0291For the second year Jamie and I were able to spend some time in Florida with LIFE Founders Orrin and Laurie Woodward and Dan and Lisa Hawkins. To have some fun in the sun with great mentors, friends, and business partners was truly an unforgetible, priceless event.

We spent some time at the Woodward estate eating, playing sports, and cruising on their 76 foot yacht with about 50 people that are living a life on purpose making a difference in this country. With so many great minds  all in one setting my favorite thing to do is listen as every person there shares what their passions are and what purpose they are running to. In a country that so many have “arrived” and stopped working for continuous improvement it is so refreshing to be with a group who is chasing after a dream.

After many of our friends went home, Jamie and I were able to celebrate freedom by renting a house on a waterway with our family creating memories that will last forever. Just being able to have the time to truly relax, catch fish, and go to the ocean without a care in the world truly brings a family together.

Jamie and I have truly been blessed and we look forward to many other leaders in LIFE gaining their freedom to be able to live the life they have always wanted.

Motivation For Pushing Forward

The difference between going through life and living Life to the fullest is what drives us to our personal best for excellence. Not excellence for the recognition or the money but doing our personal best because it is our purpose that we were put on this Earth to do!

I enjoy this video on motivation because it reminds me to do my best every day pursuing my pasion, my purpose. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time I watch it as I usually play it right before I am about to go out to speak in front of people about going after their dreams. I hope you can use it a motivational reminder for doing your best everyday in whatever you do!

Team Is Coming To Milwaukee

There is less than one week to go before the summer leadership convention for Team Life and things are being put in place for never before seen growth. The founders of Life Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, Tim Marks, George Guzzardo, Claude Hamilton, Bill Lewis, and Dan Hawkins, will be in the house along with special guest speakers Oliver DeMille speaking on freedom and Mark Macdonald talking on fitness.

As we approach the kickoff Friday night I am shaking with excitement as I learn more about what will be laid out. I heard a Life Founder this past week say we are going to help a new person start their own business as cost effective as possible! (Unless you own a smart car, it’s a tank of gas!) With the first of the two conventions taking place as this writing is happening, I want to know what you are most looking forward to coming out of Milwaukee?! I look forward to seeing you all and I am excited for a group of people that are about to make a difference not only in their own lives but the world.

What’s The Scoop?

Stealing an idea from best selling author and Top 30 Leadership Guru Chris Brady’s material I have decided to have a caption contest of my own. The only difference is that Chris gives out stuff to the winner for his contest and I give out nothing! Maybe an atta boy (girl)  and some props to people who can come up with some creative ideas.

Now This Is Fun

Recently I watched the movie Courageous with some great friends. This is a must see for every person who is a man, knows a man, or who has every seen a man (Yes Everyone!). There are many great lessons taught about family, faith, friendship, fun, in a movie that stretches you and encourages becoming a better man/father.

This film will make you laugh, cry, and search your soul. Several scenes in Courageous show men living their lives to the fullest in the 8F’s. When I watch the attached clip with my family we can’t help but have gut busting laughs as we feed off each other’s giggles and replay the seen through our own eyes. These men know how to have fun. Go grab your family, have some fun and enjoy a laugh. Better yet, go get the movie and watch it with them and some friends.

Keeping The Fun In Life

Fun In The Sun

This past New Years Jamie and I went to Florida with great friends to spend some time with LIFE Founders Dan and Lisa Hawkins and Orrin and Laurie Woodward. With temperatures reaching up into the 80′s we spent time jet skiing, going to the beach, and taking a ride on Woodward’s 76-foot yacht.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think Jamie and I would be friends with couples as influential as these two couples. From meager beginnings both have used leadership principles to launch a company that is already getting world wide recognition for its accomplishments. I should have dreamed bigger because for the past two Christmas Holidays a couple with teaching backgrounds are living a lifestyle never available had we remained in the teaching field. Do you want to know the best part? The people who went with us that you see in the pictures are from all walks of life. Engineers, factory workers, construction workers, police officers, stay at home moms and because of their decision to step out from crowd and lead, their lives are being changed forever!

What I love about the smiling faces that you see in these pictures is their huge hearts for helping people. In a time when most everyone seems to think the economy is tanking, this group has found an industry this is and always will explode. They talked about the people they are going to help and the difference they are going to make in this world with the blessing they have been given!

My family and I sure am blessed to be associated with such a great group of people.

Never Give Up On LIFE Team

Jamie and I learned a valuable principle from Orrin Woodward early on in our Team Leadership journey that those who stay will be champions!  We knew from the get go that there was something different about this community of people when we started using their leadership material several years ago.  When you look into the lives of the founders of LIFE you see real quickly that what they say and what they do match.  Learning from these great people we learned to never give up, no matter what.

Success principles are success principles and I first learned to never give up from my parents by their example of hard work, but especially during a very trying time in my life from my mother.  The start of my sophomore year of college was a very tough for me for several reasons and I was ready to give in.  My dream was to be the first Leurquin to graduate from college and for a brief period I lost my focus.  Then, in the mail a I received encouragement and love from my mom in the form of a piece of paper that had the frog and the bird similar to the one below, with the hand written words “Love ya” in the corner.

I never forgot that moment and although tattered and worn I still have that piece of paper as a reminder to never stop chasing after my dreams.

I appreciate so much those who are the few brave souls who have the courage to set a goal and I have nothing but respect for those who have the vision and work-ethic to complete it.  If you are someone who is looking for the tools to achieve some new goals I encourage you to check out the LLR subscription on the LIFE website.
